Patricia Bell-Scott, the author of “The Firebrand and the First Lady: Portrait of a Friendship: Pauli Murray, Eleanor Roosevelt, and the Struggle for Social Justice” will speak on her book at 7 p.m. Thursday at Barnes & Noble on Atlanta Highway, Athens.
Publishers Weekly named the book as one of the top 10 spring releases in history, and the New York Times Sunday Book Review gavee the book a good review. Bell-Scott is a professor of family and child development and women’s studies at the University of Georgia.
