Suspected bank robber Soua Lee was spotted Thursday in Asheville, N.C., at a Greyhound Bus Station, Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum said Friday.
Lee, 36, was identified by law enforcement as the man who robbed the Hamilton State Bank on Georgia Highway 53 in Braselton on Monday.
Lee fled the bank robbery in a Buick Rendezvous, which was later found Tuesday abandoned in Jackson County, according to Mangum. Lee then obtained a 2004 BMW 3251, which was found abandoned in Cherokee, N.C., which is about an hours drive west of Asheville.
A Jackson County investigator was in North Carolina on Thursday working on the case, Mangum said, but the whereabouts of Lee remain unknown. She declined to discuss the sighting in Asheville, but said investigators are following up on leads.
Lee did not brandish a firearm during the robbery nor indicate that he had a weapon, according to reports.
