A series of stories dubbed “Breaking Bethel” that start today and conclude on Sunday are the culmination of a weeks-long investigation into one of Athens’ most crime-ridden and impoverished neighborhoods. But this series aims not to condemn the neighborhood or those living in it. The stories — covering crime, development and economics — consider more than life in Bethel today to explore the neighborhood’s potential.
